Generator Set Heat Management

Course Description: Generators in both indoor and outdoor installations have multiple considerations for heat management. When the generator is not running, it needs to be at an optimal temperature for NFPA 110 compliant start times. On the other side of the temperature spectrum, excess heat generated as a result of combustion needs to be discharged while the generator is running. In this course, we will dive into some of the intricacies of heat management. The course is free of charge.

Objectives: After this course, you will be able to:
1. Explain the fundamentals that determine either heating or cooling under different generator operational states.
2. Define options available to manage heat, and why they are chosen.
3. Design rooms for power generation equipment using manufacturer’s recommendations for ensuring optimal performance.
