Course Description: An internal combustion engine is a major component in an emergency generator system. In this course we will take a deeper dive into how these machines work. We will also discuss some of the major advances in engine design in the past century, as well as important considerations in the design and selection of engines for generator applications. The course is free of charge.

Objectives: After this course, you will be able to:

1. Explain the fundamentals and components of internal combustion engines.
2. Describe major fuel system components on both gaseous and diesel engines.
3. Identify engineering design considerations for engines, including controls.
