Course Description: Patient care and needs are the highest priority in a healthcare environment. Quality care requires that power is always available, so back-up power is a necessity. This course dives into the key codes and standards as well as governing bodies which influence codes and standards for the healthcare segment. The course is free of charge.

Objectives: After this course, you will be able to:
1. State which bodies govern and provide oversight for healthcare facilities.
2. Explain what specifications will be needed for a power system to comply with NFPA 99 and 101.
3. Identify key requirements of the NFPA 110 code that influence the design of generator sets.
4. Explain how article 517 of NFPA 70 - National Electric Code impacts power system coordination and layout to meet installation requirements.
