Gaseous Generators - Practical Applications

Course Description: Gaseous generators have different performance characteristics than diesel generators. It important to know what to specify when designing a standby power system in a natural gas application. Emissions requirements, fuel piping, and different types of engine designs are considerations. This course will explain the key information for natural gas power systems. The course is free of charge.

Objectives: After this course, you will be able to:
1. Explain the fundamentals of a gaseous engine, differences between lean burn and rich burn, and two types of EPA classification.
2. State the key fuel systems, LP tank sizing, and dual fuel considerations when specifying gaseous generators.
3. Describe the differences in gaseous and diesel generators when deciding how to meet site performance requirements and project cost.
